Hey Reader,
How "Pull up a chair. I'm pouring the tea (or the wine, depending on how you've had this week). ☕️🍷
You're done with corporate. You feel the constant, soul-crushing drag of that job. And all you can think is, "I need to quit this week."
That feeling is valid, but acting on it before you check your benefits is how you trade corporate stress for financial chaos. You may be done with them, but we aren't done leveraging them to build your exit plan.
Why This Matters To Your Dreams Of Being Your Own Boss
The Dream: You want out now. The Danger: Your bitterness may be blinding you to free money that could fund your runway.
I know it may be hard, but reimagine your current job not as a cage, but as your strategic Exit Partner. At this stage of life, the goal is not just to build a business, but to protect the life you've already built while you do it.
Quitting before maximizing your benefits is leaving substantial gifts on the table—a gift that could help you once you've gone solo.
You earned these benefits. It is time to leverage every last drop of value out of your current role to fund your freedom.
💡 Next Step To Getting Closer To Your Dreams
Take advantage of the holiday season, when things are slower, and go on a benefits scavenger hunt. The goal is to learn everything your job offers (benefits, employer discounts, etc.) to use to help you build your financial bridge to your dream of self-employment.
Below are some of the hidden benefits I find most people miss at large organizations:
- Most EAPs (employee assistance programs) cover more than just mental health. I've seen some that offer budget counseling, free legal documents, or even assistance programs.
- If you work for a large organization, look for corporate discount & perks programs that let you buy items & pay for services at reduced prices, or for first-year discounts you can carry into your first year of business.
- Years ago, I worked with a woman who wanted to quit to become a consultant. To our delight, after scouring her benefits, we found a ton of free training to help her build her consulting skills, including free training to get her Project Management certificate. Note: Double-check for retention and repayment clauses.
Excited, you have some great tips, but thinking of how to put this together?
This is a great start, but without a Strategic Exit Plan that coordinates all of your work, you may be leaving money and opportunity on the table.
In a Confident Quitter's Power Hour, we cut through the confusion and strategically look at your situation to:

This one is for me, I have to admit it's easy for me to fall into the "forever planning and perfecting" mode and never move forward. So let's commit together to take messy action forward.
The Confident Quitter's Manifesto
We can be our own worst enemy when we let fear and the noise of others win. This Manifesto is the truth you speak back to yourself and to the people who tell you to play small. Read this, own this, and let this be the truth that guides your steps:
The Confident Quitter isn't just a quitter—she's a builder of her own destiny.
She knows that to step fully into her God-given purpose and build the life she truly desires, she must boldly release what no longer serves her. That means letting go of the soul-sucking job, the limiting beliefs whispering "it's too late," and the lie that she has to stay small.
This isn't defeat; this is a defiant declaration of faith.
With every step, she courageously claims who God is calling her to be—a woman who owns her life, her legacy, and her livelihood.
She is ready. She is capable. She is confident.
Take care,
