Hey Reader,
We've been walking through the 4 Seasons of the 1st Year Solo Transition. We've survived The Detox (Months 1–3) and waded through The Overwhelm (Months 4–6).
If you missed those deep dives, catch up here:
youBut today? We need to talk about the season that keeps me up at night.
Season 3 (Months 7–9): The Panic.
In my 20+ years as a CFP®, I've seen a pattern so consistent you could set your watch by it: Month 9 is usually when the "Fantasy" of self-employment meets the "Reality" of your bank account.
This is the 9-Month Panic Zone—that moment when the severance has dried up, the savings are dwindling, and the "lightning strike" client is still playing hard to get.
Most women hit this wall because they suffered from what I call Fantasy Math while they were still employed. They planned for the "Best Version" of their exit, where the car never breaks down, and every prospect says "Yes" on the first call.
But honey, life doesn't happen in a spreadsheet.
Why This Matters To Your Dreams Of Being Your Own Boss
If you don't have a Financial Exit Strategy BEFORE you start planning your exit, you are essentially building a bridge without checking how wide the river is. Without a strategy, I see two "Dream-Killers" happen in Season 3:
- The Lifestyle Lag: You quit the job but kept the "Corporate Lifestyle." You're still paying for the premium convenience purchases and subscriptions while your income is still "in transition."
- The "Unknown Unknowns": You accounted for the mortgage, but you forgot about the "Life Be Lifing" surcharge—the quarterly taxes, the anniversary dinners, and the annual insurance renewals that don't care about your career pivot.
When these hit all at once in Month 9, the panic sets in. Suddenly, you're "panic-applying" for the very soul-sucking jobs you just fought to escape. I want you to Exit Bold, Not Broke.

💡 Next Step To Getting Closer To Your Dreams
Do this "Panic-Proof" Audit this weekend:
- Hunt the "Ghost" Bills: Look at your calendar for the next 12 months. List every birthday, holiday, and annual insurance renewal. Total it up and divide by 12. That is your monthly "Life Be Lifing" surcharge.
- Audit the Benefits: Call your doctor and dentist today. Schedule every "Big Three" appointment (dental, vision, physical) while you are still on the company's dime. Don't pay for these out of your own pocket later.
- Identify Your "Sanity Tax" vs. "Mini Luxury": What do you really need to stay whole? A $100/month "CEO Mastermind" you aren't using is a leak. A $60 massage that keeps you out of the hospital is an investment. Know the difference now.
Not Sure Where To Start? Let's Put Some Data On The Floor.
The choices you make right now—while you still have the security of that corporate paycheck—are the difference between a Year One that is a "Controlled Launch" and one that is a "Financial Free Fall."
You don't need a 50-page business plan collecting digital dust. You need a Strategic Bridge from being done with corporate to going solo.
In our Strategy Session, we aren't going to "fix" your entire financial life. We are going to do the high-impact strategy required to get you unstuck and get closer to your "Quit Date":
- The Map (Direction): We'll help you get clear on your vision for your life after the quit, so you pick the business model that supports rather than sabotages your future.
- The Math (Snapshot): We'll review your finances to pinpoint dream-killing gaps that can derail your dream, while you have the steady income and time to fix them.
- The Roadmap (Plan): You'll walk away with your 30-Day Exit Action Plan—three micro-steps to move you out of "Analysis Paralysis" and into a confident, strategic resignation.
You've worked too hard for too long to let "Fantasy Math" turn your dream into a cautionary tale. Let's build the foundation so you can Exit Bold, Not Broke.

Encouraging Thought.. Because We All Need A Little Uplifting
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle." — Steve Jobs.
The Confident Quitter's Manifesto
We can be our own worst enemy when we let fear and the noise of others win.
This Manifesto is the truth you speak back to yourself and to the people who tell you to play small.
Read this, own this, and let this be the truth that guides your steps:
The Confident Quitter isn't just a quitter—she's a builder of her own destiny.
She knows that to step fully into her God-given purpose and build the life she truly desires, she must boldly release what no longer serves her.
That means letting go of the soul-sucking job, the limiting beliefs whispering "it's too late," and the lie that she has to stay small.
This isn't defeat; this is a defiant declaration of faith.
With every step, she courageously claims who God is calling her to be—a woman who owns her life, her legacy, and her livelihood.
She is ready. She is capable. She is confident. She Is You.
Take care,
