Hey Reader,
Whenever I talk to women who have already crossed the finish line—the ones who’ve quit the corporate grind to start their solo coaching practice—they all say the same thing:
“Tania, I thought I’d hit the ground running. Instead, I hit the couch with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s and a Netflix marathon.” (Side note: Am I the only Bridgerton fan angry over Season 4 being broken up? But I digress...).
They feel "stuck in the mud." And because they are high achievers, that mud quickly turns into guilt.
The truth? You aren't lazy. You're decompressing.
Over the next few weeks, I’m pulling back the curtain on the 4 Seasons of the 1st Year Solo Transition. We're starting with the one that catches everyone off guard: Season 1 (Month 1-3 After You Quit): The Detox.
Why This Matters To Your Dreams Of Being Your Own Boss
Most people create an exit strategy, trying to "see around corners." The problem? If you’ve never been self-employed, you don't even know where the corners are. Without that insight, here is what I typically see happening:
- The Burn Rate Trap: If you don't anticipate a period where you simply can’t bring yourself to "hustle," you will grossly under-plan how much savings you need. I work with my clients to financially plan for this detox period so the "Netflix Season" doesn't become a financial crisis.
- Decisions Made Through Toxicity: When you want to quit, you make expensive decisions through a lens of insecurity & desperation. On average, I see women spend $3,000 to $5,000 on unnecessary coaching and courses because they didn’t have a plan for vetting them. By the time they see me, I’m the one who has to tell them that the purchase was unnecessary, and more than likely, it's already collecting digital dust.
💡 Next Step To Getting Closer To Your Dreams
You’re already overwhelmed, so we aren't doing "big" today. Do these three things (pick just one for how- and for my wonderful high achievers #3 is just as important a pick as the other two 😉), you still have the badge:
- Audit the Benefits: If you feel you need it, check your Employer Assistance Program (EAP) or your medical provider for therapy services. Use those free sessions to start decompressing now.
- Book the "Big Three": Get your dental, vision, and physicals on the calendar today. Don't pay for these out of your own pocket later.
- Find a Non-Exit Hobby: Find one thing to do this weekend that has nothing to do with quitting or business building. Your brain needs the rest.
💡 When Is The Best Time To See A Job Exit Strategist?
I recently worked with a client who was surprised by how much our session laid out the blueprint for every decision she made as she considered leaving her job.
We didn't just "talk about money." We built a framework so she knew exactly:
- How to choose a business coach: We created a budget and a "vetting" list so she wouldn't be swayed by flashy marketing.
- Which business expenses actually mattered: We identified what she needed to buy now (on a corporate salary) versus what could wait.
- The Insurance Reality: We mapped out her bridge to health coverage so she wouldn't have a panic attack when her COBRA notice arrived.
The number one thing I hear from my clients is: "Tania, I wish I had seen you the second I decided to quit."
Here is the truth: The earlier you come to me, the more money I can save you. Coming to me while you’re still employed gives us a strategic advantage, but the more lead time we have, the more we can use your current paycheck to fund your future freedom. When we plan early, we can prevent that average $3,000 to $5,000 in "desperation mistakes" I see women make when they try to wing it.
In a Strategy Session, we create a Financial Exit Strategy—a blueprint you’ll use to decide on jobs, coaches, and investments before you hand in your resignation.
I’m here to help you see around the corners that cost $5,000.
Let’s turn "Can I REALLY afford this?" into "I got this!"

The Confident Quitter's Manifesto
We can be our own worst enemy when we let fear and the noise of others win.
This Manifesto is the truth you speak back to yourself and to the people who tell you to play small.
Read this, own this, and let this be the truth that guides your steps:
The Confident Quitter isn't just a quitter—she's a builder of her own destiny.
She knows that to step fully into her God-given purpose and build the life she truly desires, she must boldly release what no longer serves her.
That means letting go of the soul-sucking job, the limiting beliefs whispering "it's too late," and the lie that she has to stay small.
This isn't defeat; this is a defiant declaration of faith.
With every step, she courageously claims who God is calling her to be—a woman who owns her life, her legacy, and her livelihood.
She is ready. She is capable. She is confident. She Is You.
Take care,
